The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially ordered a re-examination for SSC CGL 2025 Tier-I on October 14, 2025, for candidates whose original exam was disrupted due to irregularities like center issues, fire incident in Mumbai, and suspected malpractice. This move follows widespread reports of technical glitches, exam center disruptions, and allegations of cheating across multiple cities. In addition, SSC is implementing reforms to improve transparency and reduce malpractice in future exams.
Why the Re-Exam Decision?
Several factors led to this decision:
- Mumbai Fire Incident: One exam center in Mumbai faced a fire on September 26, forcing cancellation of shifts in that center.
- Malpractice Allegations: Reports emerged of hacking attempts, misuse of PwBD / scribe provisions, and remote access in some centers.
- Technical Disruptions: Some shifts had server issues, system crashes, or other glitches
- Transparency Imperative: In response, SSC is launching reforms to allow candidates review their responses and challenge keys at lower fees to restore confidence.
